THE WORK
Most of this work was made for businesses that needed it to do a job on a Tuesday, not win an award. It’s sorted by the kind of business it was made for, because that’s the question you’re actually asking. If you run a manufacturing business you want to see a factory floor, not a showreel.
01 — MANUFACTURING
MANUFACTURING AND TRADES
Factory floors, product explainers, process films, team pieces. Work that has to make something technical legible to someone who doesn’t work there.
Maxispan Steel Frames. Ongoing monthly work covering product, process and people.
Nice clean images that present our products, services and people in the best light. I love the work that you do for Maxispan.
CRAIG FLEMING, CEO, MAXISPAN
02 — AUTOMOTIVE
AUTOMOTIVE
Dealership content, product walkarounds, restoration and long form.
Stillwell Ford. A restoration documentary that ran well beyond the usual scope of dealership content, alongside regular product and dealership work.
03 — CONSERVATION
CONSERVATION AND LAND CARE
Practical land management, community programs, and the people doing the work on the ground. Some of the widest ranging material I shoot, and the furthest from a talking head in an office.
NRM Communications. A body of work built up over time rather than commissioned as a one-off.
We set out to highlight the work our team is doing, provide practical land management advice, and inspire the community to take action in caring for the broader environment.
BEN, NRM COMMUNICATIONS
Through our work with Jerry, we’ve built a strong video library that showcases many facets of our work and connects viewers with important information.

04 — ASSOCIATIONS
MEMBER ORGANISATIONS AND ASSOCIATIONS
Communication to a membership base, often on a deadline and often about something that just changed.
SSAA. Restarting a dormant YouTube channel and building it into a working communication channel, including turning around urgent regulatory updates over the Christmas break.
Helping us put together videos over the Christmas and New Year break when urgent government regulation was occurring meant that we could keep our members up to date and they appreciated the efforts we made.
TOM KENYON, CEO, SSAA
05 — EVENTS
EVENTS AND FESTIVALS
Recaps, highlights, sponsor content and same-week turnarounds.
Six consecutive years covering the same event. Festivals I’ve returned to year after year, which means I know the site, the run sheet and the people before I arrive.
06 — COMMUNITY
COMMUNITY AND NOT FOR PROFIT
Fundraising films, awareness pieces, and work where the budget is small and the stakes are not.
Childhood Cancer Association. Multiple years of gala coverage and campaign work.
07 — DOCUMENTARY
DOCUMENTARY AND LONG FORM
Where I spend the time I don’t have to. Multi day shoots, interviews that run for hours before anything useful appears, and stories that need a treatment before they need a price.
THIS IS THE WORK THAT TAUGHT ME MOST OF WHAT I KNOW ABOUT THE SHORTER PIECES.
THE ONE THAT MATTERED MOST
500,000+
views, and picked up by mainstream media.
It’s the most effective film I’ve made and it’s also one of the simplest. That was the reason it worked.
If you take one thing from this page, take that. The films that do the most rarely have the biggest budgets behind them.
08 — WORTH SAYING
WHAT THIS PAGE DOESN’T SHOW
The thousand or so videos that were never meant to be portfolio pieces. Product updates, staff introductions, event recaps, the ordinary content that keeps a business visible between the big moments.
THAT’S MOST OF WHAT I DO, AND IT’S MOST OF WHAT MONTHLY PRODUCES. THE SHOWREEL MATERIAL IS THE EXCEPTION, NOT THE JOB.
Start with a Pickup, $690, and see what comes out.
